Introducing a fantastic new photographer

I'd like to introduce you to Dima Aryeh, a talented San Francisco Bay Area photographer. He has a great eye and I really believe he's going to go far. Take a look at these beautiful images - they are crisp and fresh and would all look beautiful framed. I can imagine some of these in a funky start-up, a loft space or two or three grouped together in a traditional residence too!

If you are interested in purchasing any of these fabulous photographs please email me: vwills@sbcglobal.net

Modern paisley

I recently dressed-up a bed in a master bedroom that we were staging and as I really love the paisley print, I chose a sheet set with a wonderful duck egg blue paisley print. We added lots of pillows, a gorgeous silk decorative pillow and a throw that tied everything together. What do you think:

A modern paisley print pillow with fabulous colors:

Resembling the beautiful henna tattoo shapes or a twisted teardrop, the kidney-shaped paisley is Iranian and Indian in origin, but its western name derives from the town of Paisley, in central Scotland. In Tamil the design is known as mankolam and has long been used in India. It resembles a mango and has sometimes been associated with Hinduism. In Persian the design is known as boteh jegheh and it has been used in Iran since the Sassanid Dynasty.

Here are some of my favorite patterns - some subtle and others a lot brighter:

My three favourites from Elle Decor's 2011's blogger's choice

I love all of the shelter magazines.... online and in print.... and especially Elle Decor. Loved their top picks for 2011. Here are my three favourites.

First up, Lynn Nesbit's library (September issue). The sconces and orange velvet chairs are a subtle mix of old and new... and those books are just waiting to be looked at!!

Second is this beautiful office of Claiborne Swanson Frank (November issue)... working from home would be a pleasure in this beautiful space... I like the Moroccan inspired rug and the art work - it's just fresh and airy:

Finally, my third pick is this amazing Parisian apartment by Jean-Louis Deniot (May issue). I love the panelling which makes the room so elegant and chic and I adore the light fixture:
