Introducing Kerwin Galleries

Some of you already know about our new business venture - JV Staging (www.jvstaging.com). My business partner, Jane Mudge, and I have been working relentlessly building great working relationships with realtors, galleries, showrooms and many different vendors.

It's been fun working together as Jane and I have introduced one another to many new and exciting things. One such introduction happened in early January of this year, when Jane took me to visit a fantastic art gallery in Burlingame - Kerwin Galleries. Established in 1961 by Richard and Mercedes Kerwin, the gallery is conveniently located near the San Francisco
International Airport! Kerwin Galleries specializes in the work of artists in California between 1880 and 1950. They also offer works by 19th and 20th Century American and European artists and represent a select group of contemporary artists. Major holdings include paintings by Frank Myers, John Dominique and Nancy Martin; Drawings by Edward Borein; Watercolors by George
Post; and Etchings by Joseph Eidenberger and the Kasmir family of Austria.
Here are two of Kerwin's paintings on show at one of our staged properties. They add so much warmth and depth to the space:

John A. Dominique
1893-1994
"Mountains Near Ojai"
Oil on canvas

John A. Dominique
1893 - 1994
"Ward Estate Garden, Montecito, East Valley Road:
Dated 1932
Oil on canvas

Jane best sums up working with the Kerwins, "Growing up in the San Francisco Bay area, I've know the Kerwins since childhood. They are knowledgeable and approachable. An Art collection, like most individuals grow and evolve over time, Rich and Mercedes have grown with
me over the years. I always look forward visiting the Gallery and adding to my
collection."

Kerwin Galleries will be holding its annual California Art Exhibit - Early and Contemporary from Saturday March 17 to Wednesday, May 26, 2012. If you want a little piece of history, add to your existing collection, or begin collecting, I highly recommend a visit to Kerwin Galleries. It's not
intimidating at all - take your time, have a look around and chat to Mercedes or Mary who are normally on hand.
Here are some interior shots of the gallery - full to the brim with treasures:
