France, 2008

I was very lucky to spend a month in the Dordogne last year and was so overwhelmed by the beauty of the buildings I came upon. How could you not be inspired when you see these windows and doors. I love that the actual pieces haven't been messed with... they've aged wonderfully and, to me, look better than they would have when they were brand new.
I grew up in England, so have always been surrounded by beautiful architecture, I especially love Georgian buildings, but I really enjoyed viewing the houses in France. They seem more organic somehow, I love the colours too.... Argh, wish I was there now sampling the local wines and cheeses and buying hot, fresh bread daily... now that's a nice lifestyle!

  2. Thank you so much... I actually frame the window shutter ones with white mats and black frames and they look great.
